- Total Time: 30 min
Ingredients
1 medium chicken breast
Salt
Pepper
Thyme
Instructions
- Place the chicken breast in an oven-safe container or tray. I like to use the same glass container that I can use both for cooking it and storing it. This way I’ll have one less dish to wash.
- Sprinkle it with salt and pepper on both sides and, if desire, add some herbs like oregano or thyme.
- Place it in the middle part of the oven at 180ºC (356º F) and set a timer to 13 minutes. There is no need to warm up the oven first.
- After 13 minutes, flip the chicken and place it back in the oven for 13 more minutes.
- Check if the chicken is ready by using a meat thermometer and making sure the inside temperature has reached at least 165ºF (74ºC). If you don’t have a meat thermometer you can cut through the thickest part of the chicken breast, and if it’s completely white it means it’s cooked.
- Cut the chicken into bite-size pieces in the same glass container and let it cool down before storing it in the fridge.
Notes
You can store cooked chicken in the fridge for up to a week. Make sure to use clean cutlery when serving some of the chicken and close the container properly after every use.
Adding oil to the chicken will decrease the storage time.
Cooked chicken can also be frozen and it lasts up to 3 months in the freezer.
